This year’s concept is
Cultural Ephemera.

A celebration of the everyday moments, gatherings, and shared experiences that become the memories through which communities remember who they are, imagine what’s possible, and carry their stories forward.

Help Build the Community Album

Over the past ten years, thousands of people have come home to Black August in the Park. As we celebrate this milestone, we’re inviting everyone who’s been part of that journey to help preserve the memories that shaped our community.

Share your photographs, videos, stories, letters, artwork, and keepsakes to help create our first BAP Community Photo Album. Together, these contributions will become:

  • Our first published Black August in the Park Community Photo Album
  • A public exhibition at the Durham Art Guild opening in February 2027
  • A growing digital archive that preserves our collective story for future generations
